Pics from Ekphrasis Exist!

Check out our flickr page for all the goodies

ONOMATO-[pin-yacht-AAHHH!] on November 10th @ 8pm!

Please join the Editors of Fact-Simile Editions for a fun-filled evening of
nefarious noises at The Larimer Lounge, November 10, at 8pm.

Kurt Schwitters. John Cage. Harry Partch. Do you know what I mean? If so, we
want YOU! Or maybe you play the bassoon. Maybe you're a bat-man fan dying to
do your best Adam West impersonation. If not, that's okay too...maybe you
have a crazy hidden noise-talent that you never before had a venue for. We
want you too.

If you DO have a noise or two that you'd like to share with the group,
please email your ideas to TRAVIS@FACT-SIMILE.COM for consideration. We will
make every attempt to accommodate every single conceivable notion proposed.

And yes...THERE WILL BE A PINATA!

All audience members and participants are strongly encouraged to bring a
small, legal, non-lethal, light and sharpless object to contribute to the
Pinata.

Reading Rainbow Reading Rocked!

Reading Rainbow - 15

Our inaugural event was full of music and laughter and political intrigue and cheap pbrs and winnie cooper and nostradamus and fed-exed penguins and a whole bunch of handsome people who came out to watch! If you were there, and you're handsome, thank you for coming! If you performed, thank you for performing! If you weren't there, please come play along on October 20th (more info to come)!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen.

Please click on the photos to see even more on our flickr page (I, Shawn, would like to apologize for the fact that there are not pictures of everyone who performed--I would remember to document things, and then I would get caught up in what was happening, and then I would remember to document things. . . . I'll be better next time.)

what this isn't is

(image ganked from boston.com)

"This is Not a Reading" is (or will be shortly) a curated "reading" series. Each month a different person will set a theme, invite people to come along, and hopefully take volunteers as well.

What's important to know: This is not a reading (okay so it is and poems are wonderful and one-acts and flash (gordon) fiction too and collaborative works of all kinds oh my! will be read). Costumes are encouraged. If you play a musical instrument you should play a musical instrument. Live painting is possible and oh so swoonable. There will be sing-alongs. Play is the most serious endeavor.

What's importanter to know: The first event will be Monday, September 15th at 8:30 at the Larimer Lounge (tres awesome!), and the theme will be

"But you do have to take my word for it (motherfucker): A Reading Rainbow Event"

Bring your friends, your posse, your enemies (because you should keep them closer, remember?), and your love for LeVar Burton.

(If your love for LeVar Burton has got your gut in knots as you read this and you know, you know, you f-ing know you must be a part of this event (yay!), please send one of the organizers a brief proposal via email. One of us will get back to you ASAP.)

See you there!
